Birthday Traditions

Okay so we all have birthday traditions right? Well apparently mine is to be very sick every year on my birthday making it incredibly hard to enjoy myself. Ever since I was a kid on holidays and birthdays I find myself sick. This year I thought I was going to get lucky and be able to enjoy myself. Turns out I was wrong. Sunday morning I awoke with the the Flu. All day Sunday I had a gurggly tummy and the toilet and I became really good friends. On top of that I had a sore throat stuffy nose and headache. I could not even stand with out falling over. Thankfully my mother in law took my older two for a few hours so I could rest. My husband had to run to phoenix to take my sister Christal home she was visiting for a few days and when I told her I was ill she left in hopes her kids would not get sick. Later that day he had to work so I was alone in the evening with all three boys. Mothers do not get sick leave or pay when ill! We have to tought it out. So monday I was over the flu but still really weak and sick with all head congestion my nose was like a leaky faucet out of no wear it was as if someone had turned a nossel in my body and and the snot would come flowing out on it's own. It was amazing didn't know that could actually happen!!
Tuesday April 8th was my 28th birthday! Still feeling pretty lousy but better than I had the days before. My husband was kind enough to make me breakfast, and then told me to take the kids to the park while he cleaned house for a while. Yes I said he would clean the house! Of course when you are ill and have company the house get's hit by a tornado of filthiness. That was very sweet of him to do for me.Because it had been a few days since I had done any cleaning. and on top of that I actually got to take a shower that was more than 5 minutes!!
That night we went out to eat while his mom watched Ben and Quade we took Jarett with us, Scott and his mom had arranged for our friends the Willis to join us. Scotts mom paid for are meal as well for part of my birthday gift. After dinner we went back to my mother in laws house where we had cake and ice cream. Not just any cake the All American Chocolate Cake from Costco. This cake is heaven sent. It has three layers of choclolate cake in between each layer is fudge and it has thick fudge frosting with Shavin chocolate on top. You have not truly expirenced a sugar rush until you have had a peice of this cake.
Of course as you can see from the picture above I had lots of help blowing out all the candles. Those that ate the cake were brave for all the spit that flew onto it and me since I was in blowing range. All in all it was a good day would have been great if I had not been sick but a tradition is a tradition and that is how it will be probably for the rest of my life sick on my birthday.

So sorry you were sick on your birthday but if it's tradition you have no choice, just ask Rocky, traditions are law! Mom's should get sick pay. Even if we don't get payed for anything else you should get payed for keeping it going when you feel so ill.
