So every year for Mother's Day our Ajo Ward gives the mothers a little gift to express the appreciation they have for us. This year my husband was put in charge of getting something for about 45 women. In reality I was the one put in charge of coming up with something nice for all of the ladies. So Saturday night after the kiddo's were in bed Scott and I put together the gifts. It took about 3 1/2 hours to complete everything. The gift consisted of a nice little bag full of all kinds of different chocolates and a quote from Abraham Lincoln. It said " All that I am or ever hope to be, I owe to my angel Mother."
We had the primary children sing to the mothers as well. The only problem was that we only have about 8 kids in primary most of them being in the younger age group. During practice the songs were sung nice and loud and clear. But of course when it comes to the real thing stage fright sets in. We could barely hear the little voices when it came time to preform in front of everyone. And my son Ben decided that it would be more fun to stand up there and make silly faces then to sing. Over all they did great they have more guts then I do I am terrified to sing in front of others.
My husband had to work on Mothers Day and it has been that way every year since we were married almost 5yrs ago. Law enforcement does not always have weekends off. Ben made me a very sweet card in primary, and I got to take a nap so that was the best gift ever! When Scott came home he helped with the dishes and tidying the living room, while I kicked back and relaxed. He was going to surprise me and make dinner but I had already started dinner in the crock pot while he was at work, so I ruined his surprise. I told him that the thought was nice enough and if he really wanted he could do it another night. My mother in law got me a nice pair of "Pink" Pj's the shirt was all pink and the Capri bottoms were pink with lime green plaid stripes. I actually look really nice in pink but rarely wear it. I am not sure why but wearing pink makes me feel awkward. So I put them on and was wearing them last night. Scott said I looked like "Cotton Candy" but loved me in the pink and said I should wear it more often. And my son Ben said " Mom you look like a Princess you are SO pretty" So thanks Kelly for the Pj's I love them! And so do my boys they are not use to seeing me in that color.
