Today Quade went to the Doctor with Jarett. He had to have is Hep A shot. He is 31lbs and 38 inches tall. Turns out Quade is terrified of the Doctor's Office. The stethoscope they use to look into your ears freaked him out. Which surprised me because it has a light and he is crazy about flash lights. He was clinging to my leg repeating over and over " Scared Mom Scared". So we had Jarett go first. While I held him so he could see that it wouldn't hurt, he was completely wrapped around me with a death grip at this point. After a few minutes of persuasion and me even having my own ears looked at to help him relax he finally gave in. Realizing that this part doesn't hurt and it was actually fun. Of course all that was changed when the Nurse came in to give him his shot. He saw the needle and just stared at it. The nurse was trying to talk to him to let him know everything would be okay and that it would only hurt for a second. The whole time she was talking to him his eyes were fixed on the needle. He cried pretty hard when the nurse gave him his shot. And when he saw the Band Aid he really freaked out. The nurse was trying to put it onto him and I had to tell her to stop. I told her that he has a fear of Band Aids. To him they hurt more then they help. She looked at me funny and I said I am serious he does not like them. So once the Band Aid was out of sight he finally calmed down. I really don't know why he is Scared of Band Aids..maybe it is because the only time he has ever had one on in the past was when he gets his shots. Every time he scrapes his knee and is in need of a Band Aid he absolutely freaks out if I try to put one on him. So he goes without. Most kids ask for a Band Aid when they get hurt and it helps them feel better. For My son they are traumatic and he runs in fear from them. I just hope he never breaks a bone and has to have a cast!

Jarett had is 6 month check up today. He is 19.8lbs and 29inches long.
He had to get his shots, poor little guy had just fallen asleep and I had to wake him to get poked three times! He was not happy and cried pretty hard for a few seconds, he was very brave. We will just have to wait and see if he develops a Band Aid Fear as well!

I always feel bad when they get scared at the doctor. They give you those looks like, "why would you turn me over to this guy?" it is really sad. I really feel for the poor guy. ON a lighter, or heavier note, your youngest is only two pounds lighter than mine, only things is she is two and a half :), you gotta love my shrimpy kids.
oh poor baby Morgan was asleep this last time also. I felt horrible casue she had to wake to the pain. Ohh Jarrett isn't has heavy as you thought he was but he still is a big boy You much make some yummy mommy milk :)
Poor Quade! I bet those shots make no since to him, because I am sure he has been hurt worse just playing at the park. But a shot, it hurts and you don't even get to have fun until it happens.
