Dillon was born Tongue Tied his tongue had extra skin attached at the very tip underneath and it connected to his bottom gums. He was not able to lift his tongue up or stick his tongue out past his bottom gums. It was starting to cause problems with him eating solid foods he would choke on the food cause he didn't have use of his tongue to push it back to help him swallow. And when he starts talking he would probably have a speech impediment. So we decided to get it clipped well actually they sodded it.We went up Wednesday morning to see the Doctor. I had been considering packing an overnight bag just in case they had an opening the next day to do it,but at the last minute decided not to. I should have packed the bag because we ended up staying in Tucson that night, so because I ignored the feelings to do so we had to go to Target to get everything we would need for Scott and I, Dillon and Jarett. Ben and Quade stayed behind in Ajo and stayed with our family in town. Dillon would have to go without food or drink after Midnight for his surgery the next day and this had me worried. He had been waking up and wanting to eat during the night recently because of teething and getting over a cold. I asked Scott if he could give Dillon a blessing before his procedure. And of course thanks to the Blessing Dillon slept all night and everything went great the next day. (Pictures Below)
They had to put him under anesthesia for about 10min while they sodded his tongue. We went to TMC hospital in Tucson. This is before his surgery.
I think he looks like a little clown.
Dillon showing us that he can't stick out his tongue
I don't have any after pictures. He was starving and wanted to try and eat which was difficult for him because they numbed his tongue so he ended up getting frustrated, and he and I both got covered in milk. His tongue only stayed numb for 2hours and then he was able eat without problems he is doing great and loves trying out his new and improved tongue.
